Citizens from certain countries require a visa in order to enter Germany. Travelers from certain countries may need to check visa requirements before their trip to Germany. Australian, Canadian, Israeli, Japanese, New Zealander and South Korean citizens who plan to stay longer than 90 days must secure a national visa from a German Consulate. In most cases they need proof of accommodation (hotel booking), flight tickets, and an official letter of sponsorship ("Verpflichtungserklarungen").
